I am very surprised at the results of this poll as it stands. If you looked at the promotion of contests you would surmise that money and business were driving these contests. Yet with the significant results that are already in it is clear that to the people taking this poll family, friends, hobby and learning to cook better is more important.
If I was a contest promoter I would be analyzing my thinking about these contests. Maybe the emphasis should be on entertainment, fun and family. As attendance grows the money part will grow and take care of itself.
