It's a poorly worded poll

I voted no, but not because we expect to make money by cooking at competitions. Rather, since the purpose of the entry fees at most contests is to cover the prize purse, continuing to pay two or three hundred dollars with no payouts would be little more than contest organizers making an excessive profit off the contestants.

Organizers have many other sources of revenue in ticket sales, vendor fees and event sponsorships; they don't need to bleed the cooks.

Had the poll been worded differently to propose a scenario where contestants would compete for trophies only with a greatly reduced entrance fee, then my answer would have been yes, but keeping fees the same while eliminating cash prizes isn't fair to cook teams.
