if you use a guru or stoker on your wsm and unplug the guru it will only get cold if you don't watch it and add more wood. the guru dosn't provide fuel to the cooker only air and monitors temps. the pellet cookers are fed pellets by an electric auger with out the auger no wood and the fire goes out. its not the type of wood that is the issue it is how the wood is supplied that is the rub that some find wrong
