It should be what's cooked, not what it's cooked on that matters. If you can microwave a better tasting rack of ribs then I can produce on my stick burner, then you deserve the trophy more then I do. I have a stick burner, a charcoal burner, a pellet burner, a brick pit and a gasser - I use them all and love them all. Chosing one cooker over the other doesn't make me a better cook. Each cooker poses a unique set of challenges that I need to work around to produce a top notch product. That is what makes you a good cook. It's not about having exactly what you need, it's about working with what you got. About the only advantage any of them produce is the ability to catch some z's...
