I will have to be honest this is where I personally get torn....
I use a stumps for competition and the flavor it puts out is fantastic, for ME personally, I think it is much better than a pit using gas....
Now having said that, we use a CTO at our BBQ joint hooked to Nat Gas to fire the logs (we use allot more wood then Ole Hick recommends so the gas isnt on long when it does come on) and I have to admit it puts out a Dang good product... AS I said for me personally my Stumps flavor is better. So my vote is the end product should be what is judged and heck, knowing the difference, I dont mind those with gas giving me what I would consider a lil bit of an edge on flavor ;-)
