IF the #1 goal at a BBQ contest was to have the best tasting product, and most all of us would agree that some form of wood smoke is a very important "spice" of that taste, then why would anybody care what fuel source someone else used? Let everybody use what they want to cook on and see who's the best. Wood, charcoal, gas, pellets, microwave or candles and matches!!!

Why are we even discussing this? I vote to let gassers in. I think it would help BBQ by being enclusive. Why do we care? Does anyone think that gas would taste better? Easier maybe - but that's not better.
