Did you not read what this site says? "Beginning April 1, only the new propane tanks will be sold or refilled nationwide. People with older propane gas tanks will need to get the new, safer tanks when they go in for a refill." That is April 1, 2002. There is no indication what the accidents were. We allow all sort of propane appliances at contests like turkey fryers, but a UL certified cooker is dangerous?
