If there are so many that want to have a "bring what you have contests", then just start a new sanctioning body, with all the influx of newbies using gas, pellets, electric, it should be a Million dollar winner and surpass the KCBS in a few years. I see so many analogies that just dont hold water, you can strap a jet engine to a NASCAR, its about getting across the finish line right? but its not legal. I think a new generation will not have a clue about wood and charcoal- you think Arthur Bryants would be the same with a Pellet cooker up front? or a gas/electric oven? its like kids that think Milk comes from a store, not a cow, its about preserving a heritage, but I guess when we have flying cars,in a few years operated on hydrogen, who cares about a real wood fired pit. my 3 cents..
