First it was when you cooked in a KCBS event you cooked only with wood or charcoal.
Then came the pellet cookers so the KCBS changed so they can be used.At least they use wood pellets.
Then last year there came a scantioned gas competition.

The KCBS is rapidly losing its traditional barbeque ID that made it unique and famous.

In a short time the KCBS has gone from a traditional Barbeque organization to a group of people who get together and cook food outdoors and some of it may actually be traditonal barbequed.

What made the KCBS famous is fast becoming a relic because in todays world most people think everything has to be either fast and/or easy. Barbeque was never meant to be either fast or easy.

That fast and/or easy type of thinking has got a foot hold in the KCBS and it may well well, in the long run, be its downfall.

That is the reason Nascar doesn't scantion Drag Racing or Formula One. If they did that they wouldn't be unique they'd just be a bunch of people who got together and raced.
